Alfa Romeo to Revive Its Giulia TZ Next Year as a Striking V6 Coupe

One of the big highlights of the next motorcar year 2023, Alfa Romeo is to revive its classic Giulia TZ in a brand new avatar, in collaboration with Zagato, the famed motorcar design house responsible for the original sports coupe. As expected, the final result is going to be something stunning! Recently, a series of Instagram photos and teasers, posted on the official Zagato account, showcase the striking product, which is expected to hit the market in 2023.

The New Car

Dubbed Giulia SWB Zagato, the new car’s design will feature heavy influence from the original Alfa Romeo Giulia Zagato TZ racing cars. You’ll see the signature swooping roofline, flat Kamm tail, and low bonnet, along with the rear light bar mimicking the shape of the original 1960s version. The stunning two-door coupe comes with performance-focused billing. This new creation is styled more aggressively than the standard Giulia with its lower front end, a front-hinged bonnet, and a new set of seats.

The Powerful Engine

The engine of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato is expected to be thoroughly modernized with the twin-turbo V6. Along with a tweaked framework from the Giulia Quadrifoglio, the fiery 533bhp engine from the limited range of GTAm will bring huge potential for the car. As the name SWB suggests, the car’s wheelbase will be shortened to imitate the original Giulia TZ, but in a far better way.

The Expected Launch

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia coupe is to be unveiled around November 2023, commemorating the 60th launching anniversary of the Giulia TZ, which made its racing debut at the FISA Monza Cup. Given the highly collectible classic status of the original TZ, the number of Giulia SWB Zagato hitting the road is expected to be extremely limited.
