The car was used by the U.K. Foreign Office for exclusive use at its Washington, D.C. embassy. This is the same car seen in photographs during her 1990 official visit to the U.S.

You can see it in many pictures from that trip, including visits to the London City Ball and a visit to a home for HIV-positive children. At that time, she was married to Princess Charles.

The Silver Spur is a variant of the Silver Spirit that features a long wheelbase. It was fitted with armor by MacNeillie & Son of Walsall, England, which specializes in customizing these sorts of vehicles.

The car is reinforced with carbon-steel and Kevlar plates, so you know you are protected. In addition, there are extra door and hinge reinforcements to ensure every part of the car can withstand serious physical force.

The windows are made of polycarbonate instead of glass. There is even a sunroof to enjoy the nice weather, or if you need to leave the car from the top for whatever reason.

The car was also fitted with Motorola car phones, which were state-of-the-art back them. It has 61,000 miles on it. Another feature is a two-way intercom in the glove compartment that is amplified by a speaker on the underside of the car.

The Silver Spur also has a factory standard, fuel-injected 6.8 liter V-8 paired with a GM Turbo 400, three-speed automatic transmission. There is light seepage from the valve covers and the main seal. Despite this, the discharge is quite minimal, as the car doesn’t use oil in between changes.
