Over the years, Tesla has brought electronic transport to the forefront of our attention, and it’s not uncommon to see Musk’s cars driving around the roads. However, it seems as though many people were looking forward to a brand new invention set to make its way onto our highways. The Tesla Semi was first unveiled to the world in 2017, and this was the first chance for enthusiasts to check out the all-electric, battery-powered semi-truck/tractor. It offered endless possibilities for green transport and business prospects — but it’s still in development.
Being Pushed Back
While thousands of pre-orders have been placed for the Tesla Semi, it seems as though these people are going to have to wait even longer for their trucks to be finished. Although it was first meant to be released in 2019, it was pushed back to 2020 when they realized that work would not be finished on time. Unfortunately, Tesla has since encountered a new problem in the form of a global pandemic. While it’s not known if Covid-19 is the real reason why the Tesla Semi has now been delayed until 2021, most people assume that the global business shutdown has caused a few headaches for the company. Hopefully, things will get back on track soon.
So, it’s time to scribble the 2020 release date for the Tesla Semi out of your diaries, because we’ve now got to wait another year for this new electric beast.
