What To Expect At The Belgian Grand Prix

It may feel like the mid-season break is going on forever, but it won’t be long before the Formula One championship is back on with the Belgian Grand Prix on September 1, 2019. We already know that there have been a few shake ups during the break, so what can we expect from the next race on the calendar at Spa-Francorchamps?

What To Expect At The Belgian Grand Prix

Red Bull Shake Up

Formula One fans may already know about the biggest mid-season change, after Pierre Gasly was demoted to Toro Rosso and Alexander Albon promoted to Red Bull Racing. It will be interesting to see Albon in the faster Honda-powered car, and whether he can match up to the supreme talent of his new teammate, Max Verstappen. He’ll be making his Red Bull debut at the Belgian Grand Prix – and we can’t wait!

Ferrari Bounceback

It hasn’t been the best season so far for Ferrari, without any wins so far in 2019. With Red Bull just behind them in the constructors table, it’s clear that the team need to step things up to retain their second position in the standings. However, the high-speed Spa track should give Ferrari a little bit more of an advantage and we could see some impressive times from them in the Belgian Grand Prix.

Who Is Going To Win?

Looking back at the history of the Belgian Grand Prix, it seems as though Mercedes are the dominant team at Spa. Vettel won last year, after starting in second place, but the three years previous have always seen Mercedes drivers at the top of the podium (Hamilton, Rosberg, Hamilton). 2014 also saw Ricciardo win for Red Bull, and the year previous was a Red Bull win with Vettel.

It’s going to be a thrilling race, we know that much!
