35 Inconsiderate Plane Passengers That Made Flying Unbearable

While only a select number of people in the world learn how to fly, most birds have the innate ability from the early stages of their life. For some strange reason though, passengers started to freak out when they saw this woman hanging out with her pet parrot during a flight home. Surely enough, they got even more stressed out when, halfway through the flight, the parrot decided to escape the clutches of its owner to fly up and down the aisle.

Whenever there is an empty seat on a plane, you just know that certain passengers are going to utilize that space to their benefit. Take this man, for example, who seemed to have a stressful time getting to his flight – so much so that not even he could stand the smell of his shoes. As a result, he placed them on the seat next to him and even hung the soles over an armrest. Sure enough, the passenger two seats down from him was furious…

We know that people get excited when Thanksgiving comes along and everyone is rushing back to their homes to carve up some turkey. Never in our lives though have we actually seen someone take a living member of the poultry family aboard a plane. This person got the fright of their lives when a turkey sprung up from nowhere and started to give them hell. Some passengers haven’t heard of a cargo hold. That’s where many animals are supposed to go!

It’s perfectly acceptable to maintain your facial skincare and ensure that you don’t have any outstanding blemishes. Who hasn’t gone to town on some nasty zit that doesn’t want to go away? With that said, there is no denying that there is a time and place for this, by all accounts, gross practice. To be honest, you can pop your zits whenever you please, as long as they are in private. This woman couldn’t help herself while on the plane.

On the first take, you might assume that these two are a happily married couple and the guy simply couldn’t keep his head up straight during his overnight flight sleep. However, it turns out that the woman is the mother of the person taking the photo and the guy leaning on her shoulder is just a random passenger who was sitting next to her! Thankfully, mom saw the funny side of the situation and was more than happy to smile for the camera.

Some passengers just have no boundaries and usually, the younger the passenger is, the fewer boundaries they have! Take this little guy for example, who seriously thought that he could start a game of tag with an absolute stranger. While this person wasn’t interested in getting up and running up and down the plane with this random kid, he did see the humor in taking a photo of the funny scenario and sharing it on his social media profile.

There are some passengers out there who have no sensitivity when it comes to where they can put their stuff. This woman completely ignored the fact that the man behind her had a screen he could watch TV on, just like the one she was using! Nevertheless, she had the audacity to hang her jacket on her seat, even though the bulk of it covered half of the other passenger’s screen. Next time, just put it on your lap, please.

The amount of times that passengers on planes turn their heads to see a pair of unwanted feet creeping in from out of nowhere is way too many to count. While many people are ready to expose these mystery feet on social media with a photo, this guy went one step further. Not only did the passenger post a photo of the feet in question, but he also shared a selfie of his facial expression, reacting to the horrific incident.

Some people just don’t have enough space during the flight and take it upon themselves to invade the space of passengers sitting next to them. Take this guy, for example, who had way too much on his plate during his flight. It seems like one laptop simply wasn’t enough for him. He needed one for work purposes and an iPad to watch the western comedy classic Blazing Saddles. Everything would have been fine had he asked to use this person’s fold-out table in advance…

If you don’t have games to play, a book to read, a film to watch or some music to listen to, a flight can be one of the most mind-numbingly boring experiences. However, this young lady was able to find entertainment in the most unexpected places. The passenger sitting next to her wasn’t interested in trying to keep himself entertained and simply kicked back for some shut-eye. Yet she couldn’t help herself and took a selfie with him!

This couple is a prime example and proves that no matter where they are, they are completely comfortable being next to one another, warts and all. While the husband is able to fall asleep in a conventional position, the only way the wife can get comfortable while sleeping is by kicking her feet up in the air. Now that’s a match made in heaven, literally.

So you’ve just got comfortable. You’re ready for that long haul flight and you’ve got that movie ready to watch when the coast is clear to use electric appliances. But then, someone with long hair comes along and plants their locks over the back of their seat. We don’t know if it was a man or a woman. At this stage, who cares? What matters is you have to look at that person’s hair for the next five-plus hours. Now that’s entertainment.

This guy took his huge cello on the plane and whenever the flight attendants passed by, they couldn’t help but ask if that was necessary. However, the passenger had bought two seats, one for himself and one for the cello. To be fair, this person might actually be within their rights to do this. At the end of the day, there have been many stories of airlines mishandling people’s musical instruments and setting them back a small fortune. This solves that problem.

Brushing one’s teeth seems like an activity that wouldn’t annoy others. At the end of the day, everyone is expected to brush twice a day in order to keep their dentures nice and white. There is a chance that this guy boarded a plane very early in the morning and simply didn’t have time to brush his teeth until he was up in the air. At any rate, some passengers were annoyed by this. Despite their best efforts to tell him to stop, the guy kept brushing away.

While there are many kinds of leisure that one can enjoy partaking during a flight, we never thought that there would be facilities or even room on a plane to perform any serious kind of exercise. And yet, this guy managed to find some space on the plane where he could do some press-ups. The only problem with that it is at the front of the plane where the cabin crew performs a lot of their duties. Surely you could just wait until you’re on land…

It’s simply reality – many people build up bad odors in their shoes. Sweat builds up and subsequentially, bad smells will follow. This passenger is totally aware of this and at the best of times, he can’t stand the smell of his own shoes. In fact, he can smell it while he’s wearing them. As a result, he thought of an ingenious method to alleviate this problem while he was on a plane. He simply used his personal air conditioner to blow out the odors…

In this day and age, where germs can spread so easily, especially on planes, people take crazy measures to close themselves off from others. Some people wear masks, but some will cover themselves in a plastic bag. We have no idea whether or not this person is still alive or if a gangster brought this body on the plane in a bag. There are certain things you can do on a plane when it comes to “body maintenance.” However, cutting your toenails isn’t one of them. Doing this in public was never acceptable, so why would one think that it is OK all of a sudden to do it in a confined space – on a plane? Not only is it annoying for the passenger sitting next to you, but it is also frustrating for the people who have to clean it up after you have left the plane.

Passengers have been known to display all kinds of erratic behavior when it comes to the exit doors on planes. Some desperately want to be reassured that there is no way that any doors on the vehicle can be opened during flight, which is perfectly justified. It is perfectly normal to see passengers on a plane do some makeshift stuff with their clothes. They might use a sweater as a pillow, or a jacket as a blanket. Never in our lives though have we seen a passenger take out their wet laundry on a plane and hang it out to dry. And yet, that’s exactly what this person did. Not only did they hang up a green shirt, but they also put their underwear on top of a seat!

Seeing someone else’s feet while on a plane is bad enough. To see that person’s feet stretch out into your personal space is also pretty bad. But for that person’s feet to be dirty and most likely, stinky, it should be an arrestable offense. It looks as if this person hasn’t washed their feet in years and now they have the audacity to share their foulness with other passengers? This guy should be sent straight to smelly feet prison, for sure.

How on earth did this person manage to do a 180 and have their feet face up toward the heavens? Whatever the case might be, there is no denying that what this guy was doing was bound to annoy a number of passengers on this flight. Do people really need to sleep like this in order to get comfortable? When was the last time that you slept in this position at home? Just sleep while sitting like every other normal person and we won’t have to share these photos ever again!

Some passengers get way too comfortable when they are on a flight. While some like to put up their feet, kick back and express new levels of casual behavior that they wouldn’t even display at home, some like to abuse the baggage compartment to their own advantage. In theory, these storage facilities should be able to take in a handful of bags, this person had the audacity to use it in a very different way. She used it as her own personal plane closet.

The scenario in this photo seems to demonstrate the opposite effect of all the others. While many of the other passengers on this list are annoying those around them, it seems like everyone on this flight is annoying the man in this photo. He is the one who is being annoyed. As a result, he decided to make this makeshift fortress that would shelter him from all sorts of distractions such as crying babies and people sticking their feet up in the air.

In theory, we’d like to think that we all keep that playful side and are able to open up to kids who just want to play. This kid was more than happy to show off their squeaky toy to a complete stranger while on a flight. We can’t imagine this passenger being that responsive to the playful gesture. However, he must have found it amusing enough to take a photo of it and share it on social media. At any rate, it’s a funny image.

There is absolutely no crime in eating on a plane. Whether it is a light snack or a full-on meal, most people will probably consume something when they are up in the air. This woman is no exception, with her own exquisite dinner provided by the airline. However, what many other passengers might be uncomfortable about is the fact that she is eating with her feet up in the air. Moreover, she is eating barefoot, and in certain cultures, that is unacceptable.

This might be one of the most worrying photos on this entire list. While we can forgive jackets and scarfs being hung over seats, underwear is simply unacceptable. Who thought it would be a good idea to display your boxers in public for all of the passengers around you to see? All we can wonder after seeing this photo is the following: what is the passenger wearing at this moment in time? We just hope they brought an extra pair.

Let’s be real here – having someone’s feet stick out from the seat behind you is never a pleasant experience. However, there is something to say for the type of feet that show up out of nowhere. If the feet in question were well-kept and shining like a pair of diamonds, then it might be a little easier to forgive. However, when you have rotten toenails and smelly feet just inches away from your nose, a full exposure via social media is simply inevitable.

What makes this photo so terrifying though is that it was not even from a Hollywood blockbuster. It was from real life! What was this guy thinking to let this arachnid out of its jar? At this stage, we would much prefer sharing a plane with Samuel L. Jackson and a barrel full of snakes. That’s much more appealing…

While we might associate the word “potty” with the plastic toilet that toddlers will use, the British also use the word as an adjective. It’s basically used to describe someone who is acting irrationally. You could go as far as to say that this person was acting potty by placing a potty seat in the corner of the plane during a flight. Whoever thought that this would be a fair thing to do, especially when passengers have to smell whatever ends up in it?!

Sitting behind someone who is rude enough to hang their hair over the seat like this is bad enough. And we have already shown an example of someone doing this earlier on in the article. However, we couldn’t help but include this photo of the same situation. What makes this image even more epic though is the person’s reaction. We can’t exactly tell whether or not it’s a genuine reaction. Either way, we’re sure that he wasn’t entirely comfortable with it.
